When .soccer beats .football, and when it does not
Soccer and football are the same sport and two different markets. Soccer is what the game is called in the United States, Canada and Australia, and it is what those audiences type into a search box. In Britain the word is at best dated and at worst a small irritation, which is precisely what makes the extension useful: it sorts your audience before anybody clicks.
