There is no .home, which is why .homes exists
Check the IANA list of every top level domain in existence and you will not find .home. The singular was among the most contested strings of the new extension programme and it never made it into the root zone, blocked over the risk of colliding with the countless private networks that already use .home internally on routers and home servers. The plural did make it, on 1 May 2014, and that history explains a lot about how it is used.
The registry is XYZ.COM LLC, the company behind .xyz, with CentralNic in London listed as the technical contact. XYZ publishes one policy document covering all of its extensions, and it is unusually direct about eligibility: unless a specific extension says otherwise, there are no eligibility restrictions or prerequisites limiting who may apply. No estate agency registration, no professional membership, nothing.
The plural is the thing to plan around. Homes needs a word in front of it that works as a modifier, so kettering.homes or a builder's surname reads naturally while a generic phrase does not. Price sits in the middle of the property extensions, roughly double a .co.uk and well under half a .condos.
