Why .haus does not do what a .de does
German nouns take a capital letter. Domain names do not. So .haus is permanently rendered in a form that looks slightly wrong to the native speakers it is aimed at, which is a small thing, but it is the sort of small thing a German architect notices and a British marketing agency does not.
The bigger issue is what a .haus cannot do. German internet users are unusually loyal to .de, and a German extension is what German search behaviour expects.
